Let's give Korean history a chance because I'm Korean.

So I opened up a textbook and I started reading.

And you know that feeling of when you like fall so madly in love?

Like I remember like sweating, my palms were sweaty.

I was like shaking and my heart was like beating so fast.

And I wanted to go up to a rooftop and be like,

oh my gosh, like I found the love of my life.

I was like head over heels.

And so I was just like, I want to read books like these about Korean history, but I couldn't find it out in the market.

Like there were like a few, but not many.

And so I was like, I'm just going to write my own.

And that was the turning point.

So when I look back, I do wonder, would I have been a different person if I had fallen in love and accepted my roots as a Korean earlier?

And I never feel regret, though, because I think the years that I really poured into writing my British historical, it was never wasted, because I still gained tools to learn how to write British, like to write historicals.

And it I think it built in me a perseverance to like, even though I feel like, you know, the industry is not opening its doors to this book.

It's like that persistence to try and get published.

I think that was really key for me to experience.

So I don't.

I think it was more of a gap I wanted to fill.
