I mean, that makes sense.
I remember getting broken up with in college.
Horrible.
But she processed it in the same way that she processed a lot of things, and that was with her creativity and also with grace.
Her primary outlet was poetry that she would write, and she would post about this on her blog for people to read.
There's actually a poem that we found from October 25th of 2001, and it read, "'Sad but happy, crying but laughing, ugly but pretty, hungry but full, hurt but fine, weak but strong.
I pretend, and this is me.'"
Now, Cindy knew that she was struggling during this time, but she was not necessarily one to sit around.
So she didn't wait to get help.
And within weeks, she got on medicine.
She started working with a therapist.
And all of this seemed to really be working for her.
By the end of October, it seemed like she was almost back to her old self.
She was definitely feeling a lot better.
She also had this new roommate named Catherine, and the two of them got along very well.
So when Cindy put on her pink bunny ears on Halloween night of 2001...
Her friends all thought that the only thing on her mind was having fun that night and that she was looking forward to the future.
No one could have expected that this would be their last time together.
Catherine, her roommate, had planned to catch up with Cindy when she got home from Philadelphia on the afternoon of November 1st.
But when she arrived, she found that the apartment was empty.
