And those questions, the conversation around how do we do things together to achieve outcomes, whether it be for business and wealth creation or within the family itself, is
That's not a natural conversation to have.
It is purely about governance and about making the implicit explicit.
And I think that's where a lot of the work and a lot of the structured conversations around governance
intergenerational wealth transfer come from.
What makes it successful is being able to sit in a room with someone who's had experience in having a lot of these conversations with a lot of families and guiding a conversation between parent and child, grandparents and grandchildren, whatever the combination is within a family dynamic, and getting to the crux of those questions around when you wake up in the morning and you decide to do something or not do something, what's driving that decision-making?
What implications do the rest of your family members have in relation to that?
And so getting into those types of conversations in a facilitated manner is what really gets to the crux of what is the family trying to achieve and how do we govern and protect this?
It's not.
It's not easy.
It's not for everybody.
And each family is very different.
And I think the uniqueness of each family is really what sets the private family group structures apart in Australia compared to the rest of the world.
Culturally, we have our own elements of diversity.
how we do business and how we spend time with our families.
And a lot of the time it just flows in between the two things.
We don't separate them.
