So...
Yeah, new appreciation for it, but really hard trying to not sing along to it.
Yeah, it's just amazing that the support recently as well, and going back and playing the World Cup this year in South Africa as well, the amount of support I get from...
the family and friends over there.
I do feel like I can do more in terms of my connection with back home because I left at such an early age.
Not very many people know how long I actually lived in South Africa, and so I don't necessarily have that strong of a connection with when I do go back there.
Sometimes people are quite surprised.
I was like, oh my gosh, you're South African?
I was like, yeah, yes I am, and I spent quite a decent time there too, so I don't want to lose that side of me.
I know.
So this is the funny thing.
Like, when I go home, I don't like speaking English because obviously, like, oh, why?
Afrikaans, yeah.
Home language is Afrikaans.
And so growing up, obviously, second language is a mandatory thing in New Zealand, in South Africa, especially English, because we've got so many different languages.
We've got, like, 13 different languages.
So you have to have a common one to actually understand each other.
So at school you've got your main language, which to me was Afrikaans, but we have to learn English from a young, young age.
So I could speak it, I could understand it fluently, all good, but I never used it because I grew up in a really small town, it's pretty much just Afrikaans, only spoke Afrikaans.
So my first real chucking in the deep end was in New Zealand where I had to speak it on a daily basis.
