Um well you we've just touched on on sort of two uh well three three issues.
Um first of all

I think have to commit to to mortal computation.
I don't think he can do this on a von Newman architecture.
Um, and we can talk about why in a second.
If we did if we did we we could certainly simulate consciousness in a in a sort of layman sense on a von Newman architecture, and this would be very much akin to Marx's example of a heart lung machine keeping a patient alive
um during heart surgery.
So it's perfectly possible to simulate the kind of belief updating and message passing and potentially simulate the affect read in this instance as investing certain um certain messages or certain belief structures with a confidence or a precision or igniting them in the right kind of way so that it make a difference to your team
or intelligent processing.

But it you know, i i b if it's on a von Neumann architecture, i it would be mimicry in i i i i in in a sort of vernacular sense, in the same way that the heart lung machine
Is mimicking the um the functionality of the biological heart and pulmonary system, which is of course the the real thing can do forever.
The heart-lug machine is going to run out of electricity at some point or break.
Uh you know, it's just not fit for purpose for an for an extended period of time, unlike the mortal um computation or the mortal circulation that we enjoy with our actual heart.
and lungs.
So I think it's gonna have to be mortal, which basically means I think you're you're looking at um I I would imagine Memristas or for possibly photonics, but I think more more likely to be Memristas um uh architectures.
Um and then the the the other thing we talked about is this relational thing that um the this artifact has to learn.
um to be like you or to be like things that feel in order to have as part of its generative model.
The notion of affect or feeling, uh, or at least be able to report that.
