private practice like?

So I made my private practice to fit my needs.

I have two young kids and I want to be around and be present for them.

So I have flexible hours.

I work, well, I have a nine month old that does not sleep through the night.

So I do not start my day until at least 9 a.m.

If I can push it to 10 a.m., I'm pushing it to 10 a.m.,

Depending on how big my caseload is.

But, you know, I have that luxury because I have a private practice, you know, but I specialize in seeing adults with neurogenic disorders, specifically cognition and communication.

So aphasia, cognitive communication disorders, people with Parkinson's disease, dementia.

I do swallowing as well, but that's not necessarily my specialty.

And I see both teletherapy and in-person.

So I have my teletherapy days and I have my in-person days where I'm driving around going to patients' homes.

I really like that model because I like the accessibility of the services because a lot of the individuals that I see are reliant on other people for transportation.

And I remember from my outpatient days just feeling sick, watching people sit for like two hours waiting for public transportation or, you know, some taxi to come and get them.

And it's been a big selling point for me as well to, hey, I come to your house.

So my ethical standards are very high, like I'm sure everyone's are.

And, you know, I make sure that if I'm not comfortable treating something I refer on, you know, there are other private practitioners in my area, and we refer patients to each other back and forth, which is, which is great, because we have this like small little community that
