Us older guys can't stay around forever.
So there needs to be that new generation that come through and learn how to perform on an international stage and get up and race for their country and race for themselves and their family and friends.
Oh, well, maybe I have to stay on for an extra two years and go to Commonwealth Games.
Who knows?
Might need to tick that box off.
So when you're in the moment for something, you never expect it to be your last and you can take it for granted.
And even hearing you say that, I'm like, yeah, I actually enjoyed that a lot more.
But
You just get so wound up and wrapped up in the adrenaline and wanting to do your best and PB and get on the podium.
It's just such a whirlwind and your emotions are always on a roller coaster.
So it's hard to stop and smell the roses.
But as I've gotten older and still on teams, I hope to take these moments not for granted.
Look, my goal right now is getting myself healthy so I can be at my best for the LA Olympics in 2028.
That is my ultimate goal.
In the short term, I don't know how long this glandular fever is going to affect me and my capacity to be able to put 100% into my sessions.
It's different for everyone, which I'm learning also.
So this could be something that's a slow progression for the next four to six months.
You know, my sister's glandular fever lasted eight months.
So I'm hoping that my case is a good case and I'll be in ready to go.
My short-term goal is I'd love to compete at the World Short Course in December, which will be in China this year.
