I want to make sure that the people who are making these decisions on a committee have that kind of fundamental knowledge of what they're doing.

With that said, I do also think the lottery process is what we always need to be moving towards to depoliticize, but these are big committees, I would say.

And so I assumed going in that most people would want to pick and choose from their districts.

My suggestion is if we did that, if we had a qualified member that we knew, perhaps our committee could be a group of 13 to 15 just based on the exorbitant amount of tasking and the timeframe right now.

And that would mean that you could select somebody in your district as well as have a lottery person from your district and then perhaps two at large.

I think that charter reviews in larger cities have had bigger committees than seven.

Yeah, I think that my concern is more about, again, the timing.

And while I do know that there will always be many, many things that we're working on, I think that we're in a once-in-a-lifetime year in 2026, seeing FIFA and the Super Bowl.

So I don't want to prescribe to staff that this is too much, but that is a concern.

relieves any of that with help, but I do think in terms of subcommittee building, it allows more hands to do more work on the side.

And then again, I think logistically, it could be as simple as when we promote this, staff has already selected dates and people know that if they're gonna join, it has to be within this timeframe.

What I would like about the larger committee too is I think we have responsibilities as council members to continually reach out to our constituents and find the people in our community who are excited.

And I would love the opportunity to work with some of the really talented people I've seen in my district and task them and give them opportunity and empower them to lead the city in this way.

what i was worried about again coming in is if we do that routinely then we have you know worst case scenario just a majority vote reflected in a small committee um which is why i said you know if we did uh

I think again, I'm more concerned about the time, but I'll go with staff's belief that this is not going to hinder our very pressing need for attention to major events right now and other things.
