And in a way, he's right.

But it's only because he does understand media, because at this stage, he's essentially studied the media and he has his own promotion campaign ongoing.

Yeah, he sort of really believes that his words or him opening his mouth is going to result in a kind of a gold rush for a media organisation.

Yeah.

But do you see that way he's looking for, he wants an independent media,

high profile media person, a freelancer, whatever as he calls it.

And this is because he's been kind of working away, slogging away in the background on his own promotional campaign.

He's been using accounts like Twitter and we're going to go into the detail of that more forensically over the coming conversations we're having.

But it all really starts for him in the aftermath of the Regency Hotel attack, when anonymous accounts started publicly naming those believed to have been involved in the attempted hit on Daniel Kinahan at the Boxing Way Inn in February 2016.

So I suppose what started in the aftermath of the Regency hotel attack, which was a kind of, you know, some anonymous Twitter accounts, maybe Facebook was used, etc., sort of quickly evolved into this relentless high-end media campaign, which was intent on promoting Kinahan, as he says to himself, really, in so many words, as one of life's good guys, who's simply been misrepresented by those at home in Ireland who've been axed to grind against him.

And to understand where his head is and what's happening at this stage in his life, we need to go back to a dream that started with the opening of a small basement gym in Spain and which culminated in Kinahan rubbing shoulders with the world's most powerful boxing promoters.

So we actually need to go back.

Well, I was actually out in Spain around this time, 2012, 2013, because, of course, we'd had Operation Shovel when the Spanish police had told us that they had shut down the Irish mafia.

They had all been taken from their beds, brought before the courts, put into prison, got bail, and they were out and about.

And the word was the Kinnehans were back and they were bigger than ever.

And we kind of stumbled upon this gym rather than anything because the Kinahans always had a tradition of the organisation of meeting in the gym in the morning, doing a workout and then going for breakfast and then whatever their day brought to them, they would continue doing.

And if you wanted to find who was with who or who was there in the heart of the organisation, if you pitched up at the gym or wherever they were doing the breakfast, you'd usually get the photographs.
