There was not one, but within a few minutes, two attempts to murder a relation of the Hutch's, Eddie Staunton, very close to our offices here.

he survived without serious injuries but definitely connected to the feud so while there was this big boxing event happening elsewhere on the streets here it was a completely different story there was I don't know it's wrong to call it a comical effort in relation to Mr Staunton but they went after him not once but twice but he did survive

And one of the most significant Garda events that happened as 2017 went on, it was actually a massive event,
two-month-long surveillance operation, and a number of senior and less senior Kinahan operatives were given hefty jail sentences for basically a plot, and it wasn't the first time or the last time they attempted to murder a North Inner City-based senior Hutch associate.
And I suppose as the year went on as well, the murders continued, and the year ended with...
kind of a volatile kind of criminal, but a young man at the same time, and he wouldn't have been at any high level in organised crime.
Cain McCormack was his name, and he was a son of Noel Ducker Curwen, who would actually be murdered by the cartel a year later.
