A youngster, again, I think a 20-year-old, was walking along the street and he suffered injuries to his head after a shotgun was fired at him.

That was quickly established as being feud-related as well.

And I think the incident that's probably got the most coverage in the media in general was the shotgun incident where...

an 11-year-old boy a few weeks ago, you know, in a public park, probably on his way back from primary school, ended up coming across a gun that had been discarded by someone allegedly involved in a feud and discharged a shot in the air after the handgun was handed to him by his six-year-old brother.

So, like, that got a lot of attention, and it was, thankfully, again, no one was injured, but...

It just shows, I suppose, just how reckless the situation and dangerous it is.

Yeah, and this is happening despite the fact that, you know, in the area for months now, there's been an increase in armed patrols locally, but also the armed support unit have been out there on probably a nightly basis.

So these things are still happening despite kind of...

a very detailed and progressive police operation in relation to the matters.

It's not having a huge effect in stopping the violence.

Liam Blackie Murray was more than aware of threats to his life.

He had crossed several dangerous people, but his murder still left Gardaí somewhat puzzled.

The mechanic was found dead in his bed 17 years ago.

There were four gunshot wounds, including one to his head.

Investigators would eventually make their arrests, including a well-known businessman and a former IRA bomber.

Both of those men would walk free and the case would go cold.
