What a dream it was and how much we did during that time because the Obama Salazar Dream Team really came to shake up the world during the time that you were there, Tim.
And, man, we did a lot.
And so much of that now is under threat.
So that's why I wrote the book.
I wrote the book because it's the same purpose I had when I was at Interior and during my own life journey and the positions that you described.
Some may say that I was moving from job to job because maybe I can't keep a job.
So I go from a U.S.
senator, a secretary to ambassador.
But the truth of it is, the purpose is what's always guided me.
And so I found a higher purpose being part of the Obama team and trying to change the world doing what we did.
A few years, and if I'd stayed in the Senate for 40, but we did a lot.
And so the book and the purpose really is about an inclusive America, our fight together for a more inclusive America.
It's a rejection of Trump's project of erasure and those who support him who are trying to turn back the clock on us 100 years.
We're not going to let that happen.
It's about the creation of a new North American alliance so that the North American continent, Mexico, the United States, and Canada, the United States, bringing people together to create a powerhouse of democracy and economy as an example for the rest of the world.
Tim, we've gone from a time when over 10 million people in the United States who are undocumented are still here today.
We're living in the shadows of fear.
Today, they're living in the shadows of death, the killings in Houston and in other places around the country.
It ought to be shocking to the American people.
