It is to me, and I think to most decent Americans, Republicans, Democrats.
They ought to be concerned about this, no matter who you are.
because that's not who we are as a nation.
In terms of my own history, my family has been farming and ranching along the banks of the Rio Grande since the 1600s, 400 years.
And then moving up along the rivers, making a living essentially farming and ranching along the headwaters of the Rio Grande up into the valley in the 1850s.
So our ranch today that we're still on today
has been in my family's hands since the 1850s.
I am fifth generation.
We now have the seventh generation actually helping out on the ranch and the farm.
I'm there a lot.
You'll remember when I was at Interior, Tim, I still would make it to the ranch because that's where my spiritual grounding is.
Every time I come over the crest, the summit, La Veta Pass, and I come into this largest alpine valley in the world,
That's where I'm home.
And so very proud of it.
And as President Obama used to say, you know, in Ken's case, his family never came over the border.
The border came over them because the Mexican-American War happened.
So it is a tragedy, a tragic time for,
And lots of people have been killed and are dying because there's been a failure to create a system for migration and for secure borders.
And what this administration under President Trump is doing is absolutely the wrong way of going about it.
You need to have secure borders and you need to have modern borders.
