He has all of these

different pitches he's a he's a very intelligent guy he knows how to face hitters and do all of these various things so even if the fastball velo probably isn't where it was in his mid-30s i think he knows how to attack hitters with all of his other pitches and he's going to be able to to get guys out consistently um as he learns how to work through you know the differences in his body at this point so um i think his rangers tenure obviously has um

I wouldn't say device been divisive among fans, but you kind of look at it like, oh, like we got we got a Hall of Famer, but he didn't kind of do Hall of Fame things in a year and a half.

But truly, every time he was on the mound in Texas, it felt like, you know, the Rangers have a chance to win.

He's going to do everything to put them in a position to make that happen.

So I think there's a lot that, you know, Max can give Toronto this year.

Yeah, absolutely.

I think he was a huge asset to the pitching staff and to Mike Maddox, the Rangers pitching coach, and just being able to talk and help these guys, older and younger guys, to be honest.

He obviously had a relationship with Jacob DeGrom from overlapping with the Mets, and then Nathan Ivaldi is also a guy in Texas who really enjoys breaking down other pitchers.

So Maddox really fit in well in the Rangers clubhouse and on the pitching staff, and

Just being able to help those guys and go through different things, different pitches, how to attack hitters.

It never hurts to have a future Hall of Famer on your team, and I think you saw that with Max Scherzer.

He's a phenomenal teammate.

He's always on the top step of the dugout, cheering and always super excited.

Again, he's a competitor, and that goes across teams.

I think that percolates through a clubhouse sometimes when you have a guy who's that serious and that competitive about everything.

So I think that's really going to help Toronto.

Again, younger guys, guys with less experience, all of these different things.

I think it's going to really, you know, it's a good place for Max to go.

And it's a great place for Toronto to have as well.
