It was so nice to see Wayne, you know, based on not being selected in 98 at the shootout and over in Japan, to be able to win a gold medal as the top guy for Canada was amazing.
It really was.
And, you know, the margin there was, it's much closer than people think.
It's just guys like Mario and Sackick making big plays at the right time.
Brodeur, one big save, you know.
And then we broke the Americans.
Actually, Brett Hall hit the post in the third period on a one-timer.
And I think we were up like 3-2 or something.
And they were coming.
And then shortly after, we scored and then, you know, broke their backs.
But they were close.
But to your point about hearing the fans saying, I mean, it wasn't a big building.
There might have only been like 8,000 people in that building because it was, you know, they had the big building for figure skating in Salt Lake, if you can believe it, not for hockey.
And all due respect to figure skaters, but...
It wasn't a big building, but the 8,000 fans that were there, there was a lot of Canadians.
And they started singing, oh, Canada, like with a minute left in the game.
You know, the game wasn't even over.
Like, it was amazing.
Really great to be a part of it.
