Yeah, you can only kind of do that for a certain amount of time before you not only do you need the familiarity with the receivers and the offense, but you also need to start thinking about how you're gonna create game plans and and maybe they've already gotten a head start on that, but these are guys with two different skill sets and in theory you're going to go into the season with uh or into a game at least.
With a different idea of how you're gonna win if Kyler Murray is your quarterback than if JJ McCarthy is.

I don't think they're that married to their scheme that they wouldn't.
um incorporate both of those guys' skills.

And and but even if like even if he decides to to try to make Kyler Murray into a pocket passer, like Kyler's still going to take off and use those that scramble ability.
So like that's there.
That's part of what's going to happen if Kyler Murray is on the field.
Um, I think, you know, I I would assume.
And so um there's also those sort of things, and and that's one of the reasons I think that that there really aren't that many quarterback competitions anymore.
A, there's not a lot of teams that have two quarterbacks that are close enough to being a starter level, starting caliber level player to even merit this, but then two, uh you have much less time to prepare that player and the
team and your coaches for the particular quarterback that you're gonna have on the field.
I think it's yeah, they might need him this year.
Yeah.
And you talk about the history of it.
There's basically like when this became a possibility, I was trying to find examples of a quarterback who was taken in the top ten, which means you're, you know, very highly, you know, regarded by the franchise that took you, um, losing his job in the off season essentially.
Um
because the the team acquired somebody else and then one day eventually coming back and becoming the starter of that team again.
And there is there are no examples that I found, at least not in this in this decade, which is I mean this century, which is basically the salary cap era.
