But I do think it's a symbol of a cultural resurgence of both the values of Black America, but also like the, once again, culture of Black America.
I went to Juneteenth events, like they're fun.
Like they were just playing music and eating great food.
So I think it's both like a holiday of values in that it,
once again commemorates when freedom was not granted but when freedom was enforced and i think it also it reiterates the importance of the idea that like okay there could be legislation that says we're equal but until we actually like manifest that it's not true equality so i think that's a core value that the holiday represents and i i love seeing black culture i actually had a um
a speech at Reddit on Juneteenth.
And then afterwards they had like little pecan pies and like chicken and waffle biscuits and, and beef brisket biscuits.
So I like love seeing black American culture all around.
And I love seeing the values of Juneteenth.
yeah i mean i love that i mean i agree with that i think one of the nice things is out of all the communities and demographics by at least race united states black people are the most unified like we're the most aligned and together when it comes to what we're fighting for and why we do it so i think like for us like any any cultural event any event that's recreation can also lean into politics in a not in a non-invasive way that like makes anyone dreary or sad
But some of our best music comes out of the civil rights protests in that era, or even slavery in the Reconstruction era, some of the best dances and art forms.
So there's so much about Black American culture that merges the idea of struggle and art and fun and happiness.
There's like such a multi-emotional aspect to our culture that I think that we can do it the best.
And I think that's what we should lean on, trying to hold all of these emotions, the joy with the pain and the fun with the struggle.
Mm-hmm.
I wouldn't even necessarily say like model.
I think it's like, it's the same.
It's sometimes the same people are like the children of these people.
Um, pride, the Stonewall riots, there was a large portion of the, the queer community in New York city is made up of black people.
