She joined the local Girl Guides and she played soccer.

And she truly enjoyed learning and loved school.

And this was something her dad, Bob, had really tried to instill in all of his children because he was a school teacher at the local high school.

So of course, he was thrilled that Stephanie shared his passion for education.

Stephanie's bubbly personality meant that she was someone you could not easily forget.

It was fitting that her favorite color was yellow.

It was bright.

Like she was.

She loved playing pranks on her siblings, and like many girls, she also loved fashion, dressing up, and even sewing.

Stephanie showed early signs of being not just a team player, but a leader and someone who loved the spotlight.

From the time she was about five, she and her siblings would perform little plays for their parents and grandparents.

I did the same thing growing up, so I could really truly relate to that, and I know a lot of you can as well.

Stephanie knew what costume she wanted to wear, and she had such a creative process.

Even at a young age, she had control over everything.

And she never lost her love for acting.

And this grew into a passion for the dramatic arts as she got older.

She balanced her love for performing with getting outside.

Like I said, she loved playing soccer, and she did that well into high school.

She also worked as a swimming instructor at the local pool.

And like many teens in rural areas, Stephanie was definitely excited to get her driver's license.
