Imagine what happens when the authority that you live in or whoever the municipality is you live in, they have the ability to go buy energy at the wholesale market based on large base, standardized base loads, because a Google went there or a Microsoft went there.
They're buying so much energy now that they get a better price point for the entire city, which will eventually drive the price point down.
And we saw that.
I mean, 11 out of the 15 data center markets in the United States have not seen higher than average price increases.
In fact, there's some markets that are issuing price decreases of energy because...
Data centers have decided to open up shops there that have stabilized the power demand, which has driven the price per power down.
But there are some markets.
I don't know what the causation correlation is, but there are some markets that are a little bit higher than average.
The reality is people were like, look, these things are short-term projects.
They don't last very long.
They don't create a lot of jobs.
And when we're done building them, there's not a lot of people there to operate them.
That was all true.
Every concern that every NIMBY person has is valid and I understand them.
And I have empathy for it because like I said, if I didn't see what was going on behind the green curtain, I would be just as skeptical because I don't have a lot of faith in corporate America.
I'm afraid that there's too many companies that are massive out there that don't give a shit about humans.
They only care about profits or their shareholders.
And I'd be massively concerned that they're going to go into the markets that I live in and they're going to consume resources that are meant for my generational families and they're not going to give back, right?
So every concern that NIMBY has is valid and justified.
The only thing is, is they're operating off of an outdated model of what we used to build.
