So I think that, again, like a lot of practitioners, a lot of optometrists that are not comfortable having these conversations, I wish I could just say, you know...
Your patients come to you because they want to see their best, right?
And you can shine, reflect and deflect light all day long, you know, shaping it with lenses and all different kinds of tools in your toolkit.
But like if you are bending light and shining it onto tissue that's insufficiently supported metabolically, like the patient's never going to have their best vision.
So just start with vision.
this will improve vision and and i love life meter because it does give you data that you can't look away from right you get a score of a patient's 200 or 250 and um you know you know that that's a deficient score you know that's a that's a patient that's not being sufficiently supported in their visual system and um we know the inflammatory impact that that can have so you start to have the conversation and you have it probably 20 years earlier than you normally would
depending on the age of the patient.
I was also going to say that it's not entirely about whether a patient eats garbage or not.
You know, if you think about what
So these nutrients, they're produced predominantly by the plant kingdom.
They're produced by the plant kingdom during the process of photosynthesis.
And the amount of nutrients, the amount of these carotenoid pigments that a plant will produce is with direct respect to the amount of stress that the plant is trying to grow in, the environment that the plant is trying to grow in, right?
So like the more stressful, the more environmental fluctuations that a plant has to endure, the
in order to live, the more of these carotenoid nutrients it's going to produce because carotenoids support resiliency against stress in the plant, right?
So plants don't produce these nutrients for us.
They produce them so that they can survive and thrive throughout all of the different wilds of the world.
When humans and animals consume the plants, when we consume these nutrients, our body systems use them for the exact same reason, right?
To support resiliency against all different kinds of stress.
So we see biomarkers like cortisol levels going down when you supplement with these types of nutrients.
It's just like our whole body does better against all different kinds of stress, oxidative stress, hormonal stress, all that kind of stuff, when you have more of these nutrients.
