Yeah, it does go quick, especially in junior.
I mean the c um pretty much our most of the guys will be back in town this weekend and uh yeah, camp kicks off on on Wednesday next week, so it's uh exciting times for us here.
Well, I think again is you know, when you sit down with the staff and you have lots of conversations over the summer, it's uh
You know, I can say that uh, you know, lots of the conversations that somewhere are pretty optimistic with the group and, you know, where we think we are as a team, but at the end of the day it's
You know, it's w what the guys are gonna have to do on the ice, it's gonna dictate what we are as a group and you know, I think probably not until we get through training camps and start getting into the bulk of some of the schedule in early October we'll have a better idea how we're how we're looking and uh but but certainly
As a whole, we're optimistic about the season and the group we have
Yeah, the search, I mean, it was an ongoing process for a while.
It was um it was an interesting year in the in the head coaching market this year just in the sense of there was so much
in so many changes at every level of hockey and um you know so got the opportunity to talk to a lot of people and I think, you know, later in the summer Jason had made the decision that uh he wasn't gonna go back to his his American league job and um had reached out and we started conversations and, you know, it just really felt like since day one we've been on the same page and, you know, he fits a he fits a type of coach and culture that we wanna we wanna have here in Edmonton
And um yeah, he it's been great having him around here with the staff and um yeah, he's hit he's certainly hit the ground running and and working hard and getting ready to to learn as much as he can about this group before they get here next week.
Yeah, like I told like I said, l the culture build's gonna be huge.
I think it's any time you have a
A guy that's been the captain in the in the HL and played as many games as he has and coached at many different levels and you know, was a guy that uh
dictated it through his play and just his leadership abilities that when he was a player that, you know, probably kept him around the NHL for a long time.
But, you know, I think it's again his experience and just having that presence with our with our group and and knowing that he's been at the next level and um, you know, the messaging that that can be sent through our team with that is is pretty huge.
Yeah, no, I mean I mean, that was when I was growing up watching him play games and you could you could certainly tell that uh he brought that element to to the game and um but even more it's just the leadership build of our players and you know, not just creating good hockey players on the ice but good people away w away away from the ice that uh I think he's uh he's just gonna bring, you know, our culture and our group full circle.
Yeah, in the off season we had our our three twenty year old players from from last year graduate.
Um they're all are moving on into the to the N C double A and have aged out a junior and Josh Morey, uh Marshall Finney and Rylan Rorsma and um yeah, probably two of the bigger ones is you know with Grayson Sautchen, the leading score of our team last year heading to heading to the American Hockey League and then um Alex Worthington as well getting an opportunity to be in the
American Hockey League here to start so um you know we had
Pretty much everybody else from our group from last season and has made the decision to come back.
