In a briefing, Borders R. Tom Homan said he and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison reached a breakthrough when Ellison clarified that county jails may notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in advance of
criminal public safety risks being released so ICE can take them into custody.
But Allison says there is not a new deal with Homan, explaining in a statement, I did not make and could not have made any agreement with him about how sheriffs share with ICE information about people in their county jails.

Education Department opening an investigation into San Jose State University after several members of the school's women's volleyball team sued to challenge policies allowing transgender athletes to compete, arguing it's unfair.
The department finding the university violated Title IX, a gender equity law.
offering the school a deal if it agrees to terms including apologizing to players on the women's indoor volleyball team from 2022 to 2024, the 2023 beach volleyball team, and teams that forfeited instead of playing San Jose State.
A rep for the department saying we will not relent until SJSU is held to account for these abuses.
The university has not officially confirmed its volleyball team had a transgender player.
