Recently, there was an incident of snow leopard using its claws on a skier, but the skier had, on spotting a snow leopard, tried to take a selfie with it.
And so there is not a single record of snow leopards having harmed a human, you know, unprovoked.
So that is amazing.
Even though they are 40 kilos and sometimes bring down prey as big as 200 kilos, they've never harmed a human.
Does it ever fall?
They do.
They do actually.
And there is this incredible ability they have.
I've seen them chase their prey, latch onto it and then start tumbling down the slopes and cliffs.
And they reach the end at the bottom in the ravine and the prey is stone dead while the snow leopard walks away, freshens up and comes back to eat it.
So I think as cats, they do have nine lives.
They do break their bones sometimes in these falls, but they seem to be able to deal with it just fine.
And I think that's their superpower.
Yeah, so snow leopards have many adaptations to survive in the Himalaya and climb all these difficult slopes.
First is that their eyes are a little wide apart, so that helps them scan the large, vast open range better.
They have nasal cavity, which is wider, and it actually allows the warm air that they're exhaling to help cool the air that they are inhaling.
And so they don't inhale very cold air directly into their lungs.
Then they have these amazing four limbs.
Snow leopards have the greatest strength in their upper body, you know, if you are to think of it like a human.
So their four legs and chest is really strong.
