And it's the two weeks after ovulation and before your period.
And I've nicknamed it the lunatic phase.
Yes.
Which for most women it is.
It's this time that you feel psychotic and you're crying about everything and you're pissed off at everyone and you have no energy and you just want to lay in bed all the time.
In this phase, progesterone is our dominant hormone.
So in the follicular phase, which is – I like to – let me just take a step back for the phases.
So you'll hear most people online say that there are four phases of the female cycle.
I say that there are three phases.
Because I think it's really confusing to women to consider ovulation as its own phase because it's this single event that's occurring.
So when we walk through the cycle, it's okay if you want to say that there's four.
But I just find when you're teaching women about their cycle phases, this helps them digest a little bit more.
So we have our menstrual phase.
which is the beginning of the entire cycle, which is when you're on your period.
This is the one that everyone knows.
Once your period ends, we enter the follicular phase.
And in the follicular phase, estrogen is the dominant hormone.
And it's this hormone, you can think of it as like the season of spring.
It's blossoming and good energy.
And this hormone is preparing us for ovulation.
