You are suppressing ovulation.
So you are not going through this natural hormone cycle every single month.
That is so important for a woman to go through for a lot of our body.
You know, we need to be producing progesterone
for lots of different things in the body, progesterone doesn't get produced until we've ovulated.
And so when you're on hormonal birth control, you're never producing progesterone.
You can go, some women are on birth control for 10, 15 years.
They never go through that hormone cycle of the estrogen and the progesterone and all these different things.
And so it's just such a key indicator of like vitality in the body that we're suppressing.
And then we lose this biomarker of communication that we could be getting where I love to say that your period is the report card of your cycle.
Yeah.
Love to give that analogy to women because so many of us think, one, our period doesn't matter.
Like, oh, yeah, it comes every once in a while.
Like, I get a period every three-ish months.
You know, it's fine.
But that irregularity is telling you something about your body.
It's communicating to you like, hey, your body's not feeling very safe and regulated because it's continuously delaying your ovulation because it doesn't feel like it has the ability to ovulate.
And so your period is the report card of your cycle.
One, if you're getting it regularly, every 28 to 34 days is considered a healthy cycle length.
And then also your period shouldn't be painful.
