Being out there on the field was great.
Actually, just being called initially by the Blue Jays and having this discussion over the last couple months of this is what Jays Care wants to do.
This is how we want to celebrate July 1st.
Going back to grassroots baseball, this is where we'd like the money to go.
Like, where are you thinking you would like your donation to go?

I think every moment we were discussing it as time went first, it was like, hey, let's get you on the field.
We want to celebrate you July 1st, along with a few other Canadian players.
And then, hey, we're also going to do a donation through Jayscare.
through Port Dover Minor Baseball, which was my choice.
And then also, hey, cool, we want your kids out on the field.
They're going to wear Port Dover uniforms so they can represent Port Dover and where the money's going.
We think that'd be cool too.
So it just kind of got monumentally better for me.
My favorite part, honestly, was watching my kids walk out on the field.
I think I was told, people could see on the big board, my smile got immense.
immensely bigger as I saw them coming out yes oh thank you so much but it was so great watching them I know they were a little nervous it's also just cool for them to be like around some of the players and see some of them they've met some of them before but I could see their eyes lighting up seeing the guys again for the first time or guys that they haven't seen in a while so it was it was really cool just seeing it through their eyes and some of the experience through them too
