Yeah, we're so proud of you.
So one of my workmates, when I was working with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community Service in Whangarei, I lined up my first professional fight and the promoter asked me for a fight name.
And I was like, well, I don't know.
I just want to fight.
And I just asked my colleagues and that was what one of them gave back to me.
And I was like, oh, yeah, that's a pretty cool name.
I thought it was quite cheesy to begin with, but over time I've kind of grown into it.
Suits you.
Definitely.
Definitely.
I couldn't have done it without their support.
I would have probably had a try.
I would have tried, but definitely makes the journey that much easier, better.
And having that support, it gives you that boost, like, wow, they're supporting me.
I think I'm cooler than I really am.
Not really when I first picked up the gloves.
For me, boxing has always been a weight management tool and that's why I'm kind of doing it backwards because I think I'm one of the only boxers that start from heavyweight and make their way down.
Normally people go the opposite direction.
But for me, it's always been a tool...
to help me keep fit and healthy.
