This was when I decided I should quit my full-time job with benefits and a pension while I was on submission for a book that was not selling.

I was trying to get work as a substitute teacher and I just couldn't get on any of these supply lists.

And I said, okay, every day that I don't have work, I'm going to get up and I'm going to write.

And I had already started this book that I was really just writing for fun.

I was really writing just, I needed to do something to amuse myself, something that was light, something that was

a little less intense and i just i wrote every day and i i kind of banged out this this fun theater book and you know lo and behold there she is lo and behold the thing i wrote when i was relaxed and just in a free creative state is the thing that that sold and here we are

that's the saga.

Yeah.

My dad is a poet.

He's a really, really brilliant poet, Dennis Stokes.

And he was my writer's craft teacher in high school.

So I grew up with this incredible literary writer, and I've been immersed and exposed to that world my whole life.
