I am in a family of readers, and we crocheted through each other for sport.
Commercial fiction was not something that was around sports.

I worked in a library in university.
And even before that, I lived in a very small town.
The library was tiny, so I kind of read everything.
So I would read all the literary stuff, but I was also reading Sweet Polly High and The Babysitter's Club and anything.
And I was reading it over and over and over again.
So I was always reading in a lot of different genres.
I studied creative writing at university and that's a very literary world.
So that's kind of all that anyone's doing.
And it's sort of all that's respected.
But I was also studying playwriting.
I had a double major.
And so in the playwriting space is where I was really developing my voice and where the humor and there was just like a lot more energy.
And so I was and I've kind of always been really grounded in, you know, a literary space.
training sounds like such a pretentious word but that's how I was learning but then applying it into this very voicey very loose very free other medium of theater so I think that's like where they've merged where like my scenes and my dialogue have a very different tone or different energy to you know
more narrative prose because that's been another totally separate medium I've been working in.
And that taught me a lot about, about voice because in, in theater, it's only the voice.
It's only, it's only the dialogue.
