So I went to my boss and I said, hey, I'm evaluating these kids and they're not qualifying and they need services.

Where do I refer them to?

What are their options around here?

There were no options.

There was nothing for these children to get services anywhere.

So this time last year, I enrolled in the Start Your Private Practice course and I said, I'm going to fill this need.

I'm going to start something and I'm going to make a way for these kids to get services.

So I started it about this time last year.

And by June, I had opened up my private practice.

I'm still working as a travel SLP, but I have my private practice on the side.

And the thing about being a travel SLP is I have a lot of state licenses.

So I'm able to see kids and adults in the state that I live in and for other states virtually.

The business has taken off.

There is a lot of need, but I'm really able to balance between being a travel SLP and having this private practice on the side very nicely.

It has worked out so well for me, especially with my goal of paying off my student loans because I'm making that nice travel SLP paycheck, but I'm also making extra money on the side through this private practice.

And the other thing that I was able to accomplish by taking this course was actually opening a second business called the Travel SLP.

And I created this business to be, you know, education and a way to connect current, former and future travel SLPs.

I wanted that resource that I needed when I was a new traveler and had no idea what I was doing.

So I created this community with the format that I learned in Start Your Private Practice.

I just picked it up and plopped it down and now I have two businesses.
