So I just wanted to share some of the feedback that I heard from the public hearing.

I think I was the only council member at the committee meeting who supported the first recommendation, which is to extend the street vending regulations beyond the existing congested business district citywide.

But I did not support the second recommendation of establishing a criminal penalty option.

And I'll tell you why.

Here is my reason, because as I attended the public hearing, I got insight from street vendors as well as small businesses.

Though we don't regulate them, there is none that exists today.

So I think that is an equity concern that we need to take it seriously.
