The rule of thumb is not to pay with your credit card because you might end up with 3% fees on that unless you've got a specialist card.
Big example of that is I don't I didn't use my American Express uh while I was away in France last week.
I used my debit card, which has fee-free spending abroad.
So make sure that your debit card is a fee-free one.
There's lots of options for that.
Chase, First Direct, Monzo, Starling.
Um, if you're not one of the customers of one of those, it's quite nice to have a secondary account to budget.
while you're going overseas anyway.
So you can put your money in there and you know
where it is.
Now it comes to actually when you're spending money and you're paying by card in a restaurant or a shop or wherever you are, uh make sure you pay in the local currency.
