And I think we've been talking about this for many years now, George, and we kept saying this is a kind of one of those things that's bubbling away that start grabbing more and more people into the net.
and more and more people will get angry about it.
And actually, again, more figures in there.
2021-22 income tax rating, £226 billion for the Treasury.
Projected this year, £347 billion.
That's an extra £121 billion
um in income tax and we're feeling it i think we're feeling it in uh our wage packets and it just it doesn't feel like we're earning um as much as what we should be earning and actually some aj bell figures they crunched the numbers on this and we've crunched these numbers numerous times but if the higher rate threshold arisen with inflation since 2021 2022 2022
the 40% tax band would kick in at a salary level of £69,504.
That's a massive, massive difference between where it's at now.
And I think a lot of people that are earning over that £50,000, £50,270 threshold, you know, are kind of really feeling it.
You might be doing well in your career and moving out the ladder and then, bosh, here you go, you're straight into that 40% tax band and it's...
It's not really great, is it?
The fiscal drag effect.
Well, if you're on full state pension, that's right.
And actually, again, there was another.
