I, in June, emailed our solicitor to say, I haven't had the land registry document yet, which basically shows the deeds and that you now own the property.

The solicitor email me back and said that because of COVID delays, still COVID delays for the pandemic, land registry are still running massively behind.

And the earliest date that our new purchase would actually be registered is September.

So six months.

And in the story we've done today, some people are saying it's taken two years and counting to register a new build with the land registry.

massive backlog going on there.

You pay all that money in stamp duty, you go through all that process, and yet you are still waiting for the days to come through the average tree.

What a messy old business buying and selling a home is, Georgie, I tell you.

And we say, you know, keep your records for six years and that kind of stuff.

I think six years after a pandemic is way too long to be using as an excuse.

That was the twist in this podcast.

Yeah, it's crazy.

Actually, the projection here that we got this week from HMRC is that the number of additional rate taxpayers has increased from half a million in 2021-22 to a projected 1.29 million in the current financial year.

You are correct.

I would say that, I don't know, about a quarter.

I can't remember off the top of my head.

But it is a lot more people that are getting caught in this net.

And actually, Mariana Hunt of Liberty said,

and now paying rates of tax that would once have been reserved for much higher earners.

And I think there is a real feeling about this.
