And so I quite often will get numbers that I don't recognize.

And you could say, well, just don't answer the phone if you don't recognize it.

But I don't want to miss anything.

What I do now and have done for quite a long time is just pick up the phone and I say nothing.

And I would say that probably one in three of those calls are automated bots.

And what worries me is if you say hello, they know that you're a number that's actually active and you might end up on a site and then forever getting phone calls from scammers and or in a time of...

not so worried about this because i'm on a podcast for heaven's sake but you say hello someone might record that take your voice and use it in future you know build up a profile of you for example and a lot of us now do have big profiles and things like social media and whatnot more information about us than ever before is around and out there so i just don't say hello on the phone which is quite hilarious sometimes because i just aren't i just you know swipe green on the call put the phone to my ear say nothing and it'll be a couple of seconds of like yeah

silence and someone go hello and okay i know it's someone actually there yeah and it'll be like there's a couple of second gap i haven't said hello and then it'll be like you are receiving this call because you have caught up in an investment you know like that and you're like uh you just hang up straight away um and that's my tip of the week
