that allow government agencies, and if you've got an AMBER alert, if a child is abducted, if there's a civil emergency, or weather alerts and weather warnings and attack warnings and things like that, there are many different pathways that authorized agencies can use to be able to automatically be on all the radio stations simultaneously so nobody won't not know that something's going on.
But the drama doesn't have to be the world is coming to an end stuff.
We've done probably 15 or 20 emergency alerts this week, including a child abduction alert that just ran a few hours ago.
And it's important to understand there's nothing wrong with people having preferences.
There's nothing wrong with cell phones.
There's nothing wrong with the Internet.
There's nothing wrong with any of that.
But there has to be a free option.
And the free options are built.
Radio stations are required to provide this technology.
Every single radio station and every single television station.
And how in the world the government could even conceive of allowing it to be dismantled by car manufacturers that are working on trying to build a revenue stream.
It doesn't make any sense.
Well, and my real fear is that when you require that people do something, unless you write very specific language in the agreement that requires them to do it, we may wind up with radio and vehicles, but you may not be able to find it.
It'll be hidden on some menu that it's hard to get to, and it won't be conspicuous, and they will have achieved the requirement.
But
but not the efficiency of actually people being able to find it in emergencies because everything's about dotting I's and crossing T's and negotiating.
The story I saw last week, which is important too, is that most consumers are confused.
They actually place whether or not there's a radio in their car once they realize there may not be.
That affects which models they choose to buy and whether or not they purchase those vehicles because you do want that option.
