That's very, very, very true.
And I firmly believe that people want to hear more local programming.
They're not craving to be able to listen to somebody in California.
They want to know what's happening in their communities and their hometowns and their regions.
And that's the core reason behind what broadcasting should be, keeping people educated, informed, involved, engaged, promoting events.
creating a lift for everything that's happening in local communities.
And that doesn't happen when you're listening to Spotify or Apple Music or whatever.
It's great for entertainment, but it's not great for connecting communities.

It's really sad.
I was explaining that to my accountant the other day as I was justifying it.
We operate 13 radio brands in East Central Alabama, and we have 63 people on the payroll.
And the full-time list is much shorter than that.
But people who get paid to help us with stuff, which includes a lot of high school sports.

Again, you don't just stand back and turn on the radio and hope everybody's going to send you their money.
