I am a mother.

You know, I always say I'm not going to leave my kids and pay a babysitter just to go do some transactional job.

It's not worth it.

It doesn't make sense.

So all of those things led me to study this very deeply.

And the things that you just quoted proved to be true.

salespeople, and you can call it practitioners, people who are in any kind of endeavor that has a commercial component to it, who care deeply, who put making a difference at the top of their list are actually more financially successful.

And that's the opposite of what we've been led to think.

So here's the thing that we have to understand.

Numbers can go on a spreadsheet and be forwarded.

Feelings are a little hard to quantify.

But what we know is that the numbers are a lagging indicator.

So I'll tell you the things that I hear from corporations is they talk out of both sides of their mouths.

We've got to hit these quarterly targets.

We've got to hit these numbers.

And to be clear, stock market pressure is real.

Investor pressure is real.

I'm not minimizing that by any stretch of the imagination.

But they will over index on that and then they'll come back and say, yeah, our customer ratings are really down and a bunch of our people are quitting.

Or worse, this is what I always say, this is worse than your people quitting.
