It wasn't whether I was getting a free Estee Lauder makeup brush.
That is all you are.
And that's the perspective you have to have in these sorts of jobs, that you are what connects that person's story to a much larger audience that deserves to hear that this story exists.
First port of call is my husband and we talk things through.
Doesn't always give me the advice that I particularly want to hear at that moment, but to have a great sounding board whose advice you basically trust and just being able to talk something through is, I think, a great de-stressor.
I've been through fairly challenging years recently.
One of the things I've done to manage that is I've started Pilates.
Oh, my God.
It's really hard, can I just say.
If you do it often enough, it just becomes this joy.
And I hear people who run say that as well, but I refuse to believe that.
I've tried and I get a stitch after like two minutes.
I'm the same.
Can't run.
But Pilates on reformers?
I've just found because my mind is totally focused on my own body.
You know, I don't have that chaos going on and the what ifs and the I should haves and gee, I'm bad at that or gee, I'm having a fat day.
All of that goes because you're concentrating on your strength and your inner strength as much as your muscular skeletal strength.
