Yeah, so Alison O'Connor, you know, ignore climate change and we'll boil like frogs.

So she went to Murcia in Spain in May and there was floods and cars floating down the street the week before she got there.

And I think it's just, you know, like I was out in Seapoint this week, surrounded by people smoking weed just for the summer.

You know, like, I may get a red tomato this year for the first time in a very long time in my garden.

But, you know, Alison's main point, she's like, why are we not more scared by all this?

And she connects the good weather that we're having with the moment with that 175% of the annual rainfall that we had in January, February, and with this kind of overall chaos.

And that boiling the frog analogy does feel really apt.

Yeah, so this is a story about what they call the high powered behind closed doors meeting that happened recently between a couple of government ministers, Minister for Education and some others and some sort of big tech companies.

So I think it was OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta, Dell, also Indeed and William Fry.

And, you know, they've come out with some recommendations, yeah, scrapping the four year degree program.

I mean, like I'm all for having a conversation about what degree structures are like.

I'm not sure that William Fry are an expert in education and I'm not really sure why we're taking advice on this, on this from tech companies.

Yeah, so it shouldn't take two years to develop a strategy on anything.

It definitely shouldn't take two years to develop an education strategy on AI.

To me, it's a bit of an encapsulation of this sort of weird intertwining of the state and big tech.

So we have this thing called the National Skills Council.

Sounds very kind of official and like it's in our interest.
