I am not holding my breath for Congress to do that.
Perhaps after the midterms, if we see a different political alignment, Congress will step up and do something.
There certainly are members of Congress on both sides of the aisle that have expressed their
distaste for what is going on here.
And perhaps in the future, we'll see them come together and bring a lawsuit.
But in the meantime, it's going to fall upon the lawyers who have dedicated themselves to fighting corruption in our government and in this administration to develop legal strategies to try to block the enforcement of this incredibly corrupt settlement agreement and protect the taxpayers.

So there's a couple of things going on with this case from a legal perspective that are really important.
One is that the judge who was assigned to preside over this case suspected from the beginning that it was a sham.
And she appointed some independent lawyers, people from all political backgrounds, really well-respected lawyers to assess the merits of Donald Trump's lawsuit against the IRS.
They concluded that the lawsuit has no merit.
It should be dismissed.
And just before the court had the opportunity to dismiss it, Donald Trump's lawyers announced that they were dismissing it voluntarily because they had reached this settlement agreement.
So that essentially gave them the ability to undermine the judge, deprive her of the opportunity to dismiss the lawsuit in the interest of justice and move forward with this settlement agreement.
The settlement agreement that they signed is absolutely extraordinary because it is an agreement to pay people from our tax dollars who the U.S.
government has no obligation to pay.
Essentially, Todd Blanch signed an agreement with Donald Trump to reach into the U.S.
Treasury, which stores our tax dollars and
pay out money to people who have no legal entitlement to that money.
