You know what?

I was never comfortable singing in front of people.

I would just lock myself in my room and sing for hours and hours a day.

And it wasn't until the older sister of my friend kind of heard me singing around and she said, excuse me.

You need to sing for us right now.

What was that?

You're belting.

And I was so shy that I had to face the wall in order to sing in front of them.

And they said, you have to try out for the talent show at school.

And I thought, I can definitely not do that.

I don't know.

And just slowly over time, my friend would tell people, oh, you know, Lauren can sing.

And then I would just have to face the wall and sing.

And then eventually I signed up for the talent show.

And I sang Someday by Mariah Carey.

I don't know if you know that one.

And yeah, I just sang like I did in my room.

And it was scary, but the crowd was so nice about it that I thought, okay, I will try to sign up for any sort of talent show I can get my hands on.

So that was kind of the beginning of that.

Yeah, the first time ever.
