Yeah, I was a sophomore in high school.

I had sung in like children's choirs and this and that, but never had I kind of like sung out in that way and like as a solo in front of anybody.

So...

I guess gearing up, I don't know.

I had never used a microphone in that way.

I just thought I'm just, I think I just blacked out and thought I'll just pretend I'm in my room and, um,

Yeah, it's funny if you watch the video back, which it was lost forever until this year.

I think my friend's parents who filmed on their camcorder dug it out of their basement and I was able to see it again.

But yeah, you can tell I'm just kind of like stiff.

And then when I'm having to bow, I'm just like bow and run off.

Like I just couldn't wait to get out of there.

But yeah, it did help me with my confidence to see that the crowd liked it.

My friends and my peers at school.

It's definitely gotten a lot easier.

I think, you know, I always thought of myself as like someone who absolutely loves to sing, but doesn't like attention.

So then I've always kind of grappled with that, you know, juxtaposition of those feelings.

But it's, I feel like

As I'm getting older, I am starting to accept myself in a way where it doesn't affect me as much.

And now I can actually have fun doing it.

So it's much easier now.
