And I thought, well, that's pretty difficult, but I can try. Eventually, the songwriters and the director said, I think we're going to keep your voice in the movie. They're amazingly talented. Put your hands together! I sang the song Never Enough from the British showman. Oh, my God! I recorded so many songs and then I'd hear one of the songs on like another artist's album. This kept happening.
How does that even happen?
Hey, my friends Benj and Justin, they're looking for someone to do a demo for them. And so I did a demo for Pitch Perfect 3, Trolls, Dear Evan Hansen.
Of course, The Greatest Showman. At the same time, a lot of people didn't know for the longest time that it was you singing.
Even though The Greatest Showman had come out, I was still working as a bartender and in the wedding band. Wow. And I was kind of struggling financially. Constantly being told, no, no, no, no, no. I got an inquiry from Britain's Got Talent saying, Simon Cowell's favorite song is Never Enough. It would be so epic if you came and auditioned with Never Enough.

Yes. One of my fears with going on Britain's Got Talent is I was going to face that person again. I thought this is either going to be the best moment of my life or the most embarrassing moment of my life.
What about that moment made you feel you were finally ready?
Because I think I just felt like, wow.

And one of the things that almost nobody out there knows, besides my family and some really close friends, is you are actually one of the main reasons this series started. Yes. Well, first I just have to say, it's been so amazing watching this whole journey of yours and how it's grown into this. Cause I just feel like from the beginning, this was your calling and it just is, you were born for this.

How did Loren's experience in the industry shape her career?
Because I know we have a lot to go through, but I think what I'd love to hear is where you feel it starts for you with singing, with music, with everything.
Oh my gosh, where do we begin? Like beginning of my life?
How did you start singing?
Well, my parents are both classical musicians. So my mom is an opera singer and a vocal coach. And my dad is a choral conductor. So there was always music in the house. And my mom would sing me and my younger sisters to sleep and kind of teach us how to harmonize and how to use our voice. So that was always around and a huge part of growing up. And we all sing together as a family. It's really fun. But it wasn't until... It's really hilarious. I have three gay cousins who sent me albums of singers separately and introduced me to the divas and... And then once I heard Mariah, Whitney, Shaka, Lettucey actually was one of those albums I heard, I just couldn't stop listening to and just practicing to those types of voices.
And that's when I knew, oh, this type of singing is what I want to do. So that was the beginning of that.
How many songs did you sing until you felt comfortable singing in front of people?
You know what? I was never comfortable singing in front of people.
Really?
I would just lock myself in my room and sing for hours and hours a day. And it wasn't until the older sister of my friend kind of heard me singing around and she said, excuse me.
