I wasn't dissatisfied with where I lived and grew up, but I'd watch my dad, like me and mum lived on, you know, a lovely little council estate in Manchester and I had a very happy childhood.

But I always remember seeing my dad and he lived in Whitefield and it was quite affluent and he lived in, you know, on his road, it was all just detached houses and flancy cars.

And on my road, it was like, you know, terraces and we didn't have nice cars.

So I think growing up, I always thought,

well, that's better.

So I need to get away from this and I need to get to that by hook or by crook.

And I think using things like going to uni or even going to work for Virgin and being air hostess was shining.

It was a way to get away, right?

Because that's like, I'm going to travel, I'm going to meet new, exciting people.

And that was really enticing for me in my formative years, I would say.

I think I just used to think, well, hang on, why is it not good enough for him?
