Yeah, I I had to make time for this.

I'm so excited to chat today.

So it wasn't anything that like I had a dream to write a book for my whole life.

But what ended up happening was I started my business and about a year in, a publisher reached out to me on LinkedIn and they asked if I had ever thought about writing a book.

And before that, I had a few former colleagues who kind of planted the seed who had asked me as, Well, have you ever thought about writing a book?

And I hadn't.

But then after they said that, I thought, hmm, this

This kind of makes sense.

And so by the time the publisher reached out and I had to write my proposal, I really thought back to what would this book be about?

And it brought me back to earlier on in my career, I was a founding editor at LinkedIn.

I was someone who was well liked, respected by my peers.

I worked really hard, worked on high priority projects.

But as hard as I tried, I could not figure out how to get proposed.

And I wanted it so badly, but I just it just wasn't happening for me.

And after leaving LinkedIn, I had more time to reflect, to talk to mentors, to talk to peers and figure out what was I doing wrong?

Because on paper everything seemed right to me.

And what I came to realize is that a big piece of what I was missing was presence in terms of how others saw me.

A few months later I joined a company called Prezi.
