anger in Fianna Fáil and in Fianna Gael mostly in Fianna Fáil and at the parliamentary party for Fianna Fáil on Friday evening it was put to Micheál Martin by Pat the Cope Gallagher was the main kind of ringleader in it saying listen you're trying to influence people's votes here and you're trying to be the influencer and we're all meant to have a free vote and kind of what that resulted in was on Wednesday I was covering this on Wednesday evening for the examiner and you were speaking to Fianna Gael and Fianna Fáil TDs and you were kind of just like saying in passing how are you going to vote and
This evening, and they were kind of like almost putting their shoulders up and kind of like a self-protective way because they felt that they couldn't say, yes, I'm voting this way or no, I'm voting this way because they felt somewhat pressure.
I know there was a big email campaign going on earlier in the week of.
people sending hundreds of emails to TDs imploring them to vote against the Sinn Féin proposals.
So people kind of felt like their backs were up against the wall in some instances.
Yeah, I mean, I don't think that was the explicit intention.
I think the explicit intention was to remove the three-day wait.
But yes, in many ways they did.
Because I remember speaking to particularly Fianna Fáil TDs and Fine Gael TDs who you would have seen voting yes earlier in the week.
