And there's some things going on for me that I'm particularly hooked into.
And this is not
guys about self-optimization.
That's a bit of an ick term for me.
It's more about taking a moment to come back to yourself in a world that sometimes feels like it's vying for every piece of my inner peace.
And I don't know if that's a question we ask ourselves all that often because we don't stop and take the time.
This is a question at the heart of Nick's work.
He's an organisational psychologist and a global expert on leadership resilience and burnout prevention.
He has spent the last 20 years studying sustainable performance in demanding environments, researching and working with the likes of Google, NASA, the FBI and elite sports teams to help navigate and understand the pressures of modern work culture.
I'd be curious how many people finish their cancer treatment and aren't almost a 10 out of 10, unless of course they've done this work.
Well, I also had a journey about a decade ago and I remember saying to the guy at the last radiotherapy session, what do I do now?
And he's exactly the same words.
God, cancer patients must hear this all the time.
Just go out and live your life.
I said, it's not as simple as that, right?
But if you can get your stress levels when it's life or death, literally, on your mind, if you can get your stress levels to zero, then surely we can all learn something from this.
That's interesting.
When I said in the introduction about you can deep dive into everything, but there was a rumination that really was the one that I've leaned into personally.
And when you say commute, that's so interesting.
I mean, I ride a moped.
