But they've held back something that they felt not quite comfortable admitting to themselves or admitting to me.

And it takes time to come to their pace to let them let go of stuff gently.

I don't know how people manage without coaching, to be quite honest.

I know I did for decades and I'm not sure how I came out the other side, actually.

There's so many levels and I think there's a value to every level.

There's a value to dipping your toe in the water and seeing, and there's a value to going deep.

And I think we all need to go through stages.

It takes time.

And of course, as coaches, we love it when we get to go deep and see huge transitions.

But there's just as much value in taking it easy, taking that surface level and those aha moments that, my God, I can see what I've been doing all this time.

I can't fix it now.

But that first level of, that's why, is also very rewarding for everyone.

Yes.

And sometimes people's or our clients' natural abilities, so we have these talents, and sometimes people don't recognize them.

It's like when you're natural at something, you often don't realize that it is a talent or even a superpower.

It's interesting how sometimes we need to help them see, actually, you are really good at this.

And then they're, oh, really?

So that's good, is it?

It's really fascinating, helping people, as you've mentioned, holding up a mirror, helping people see what the strengths they have, and maybe things that are really appreciated by others, which they completely take for granted.
