So, so even like I had an identity crisis that when I was like, okay, I'm done with basketball.

Cause I dedicated so much of my life and time to it.

But still, you know what I related to?

That book from Cal Newport called So Good They Can't Ignore You.

I love that book.

It's like a Steve Martin saying.

And he talks about career capital and deliberate practice, right?

So-

what i realized is that you know deliberate practice is when you're training a skill very deliberately right like you know this well because i mean you've done it a ton when when you were doing powerlifting and it's just like every rep crisp to the t focused right and i was doing that with strength training and performance training i mean i was on the track i was listening to the best coaches i was reading the books i mean i was putting an insane amount of hours so

I was doing deliberate practice and underlyingly below the basketball career.

I was, I was basically building a career in, in basic sports performance and fitness.

Right.

And so by the time that I'm like, you know, do I want to continue basketball, which I love, but if anybody has done pro sports at the level that, you know, and you're not like the highest paid NBA player, um,

you know, I'm like, I'm not rich out of it.

Like sometimes, you know, I'd play for a team and you're doing two a days and you're not getting paid.

And it's like, man, it wears you out.

And then my choice was like, okay, well you got to offer here in Portugal, you know?

And then at that point in time I got married.

So, and I was doing long distance, which was really challenging.

I was like, okay, do I tell my then wife, Hey, you know, stop doing what you're doing in the U S let's go to Portugal.
